I purchased one ornament holder before Christmas at a local gift shop. I’m sure that you can find these at Michaels or another craft type shop, but I decided that I could make my own using heavy duty wire from the hardware store.
The one that I purchased looks similar to this.
Mr. SP purchased several 1/8” diameter brass rod lengths from True Value for about $4.50 each. I was able to make one larger hanger and one small hanger per rod length. This wire is very heavy duty and is almost impossible to bend without pliers.
We made our first stand with a circular bottom but soon discovered that bending the bottom into a triangular shape was much easier. Be prepared for an arm workout, this wire is tough to bend!
I was able to make the hooks with just my pliers but it was pretty tough. A vise can help if you have one.
I’m all smiles when I realize that they actually will work as planned.
I displayed the ornaments on a chest in our living room where they can be enjoyed for a few more months.
I predict that I’ll find all kinds of uses for these including Easter egg display.
I’m sharing this project at Susan’s Between Naps on the Porch weekly Metamorphosis Monday party and with Amanda's Weekend Bloggy Reading Party at Serenity Now.

pretty clever!! and what really caught my eye is that beautiful bureau!!
ReplyDeleteThose are great! I have been trying to think of a way to display the jewelry that I sell, and these would be so good for necklaces and earrings, too. Thanks for the inspiration!
