Mr. SP was there the first week with the boat. Unfortunately, the second week when he was back at home at work was the better boating week, but we still managed to take it out three times. My niece and my cousin’s niece claimed the front seats each time.
These boys are the children of two of my cousins. They had a ball boating even though it was a rough day on the water.
Mr. SP and I went on several bike rides. The towns of Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, and Nags Head have done a great job of making bike paths that go on for miles.
A trip to the dunes at sunset is always a fun beach activity.
My niece, Reese, and my cousin’s niece, Cameron became BFFs on this beach trip.
Cameron and Reese had a ball running down the dunes.
Reese did a face plant, but don’t worry, she was fine and was laughing the whole time.
Here we are waiting for the show.
The wait was worth it!
Of course we did some swimming. Usually I am not crazy about sitting on the beach but I did a lot of it this year because Reese wanted to swim. I finally got in the water on the last day. The other days it was too cold for wimpy me!
We went to see the new Jeanette’s Pier after dinner one evening.
We all had a good time and look forward to the next time we can visit the Outer Banks, probably for a weekend in September.
What an awesome trip! I am considering OBX next summer so I know who to check in with about the best places to visit. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a perfect summer vacation Paula. How wonderful that y'all have such memories of summers at OBX.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun, Paula! I love the Outer Banks! Have a great weekend!...hugs...Debbie
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun trip! I love all your pictures.
ReplyDeleteI went to the Outer Banks once about 12 years ago. I live in North Carolina but it takes about 8 hours to get there from where I am in the state so we end up always choosing beaches that are closer.
Thanks for sharing your vacation with us. We're not taking one until the fall and I am so anxious to get away!
Jennifer
We stopped at the Outerbanks last year and also went to Kill Devil Hills. The kids loved running down the dunes. Such a pretty place!
