When I saw how to make salted candles in the December issue of Martha Stewart, I knew that this was a project that I would have to try. The picture below is from the Martha Stewart website and you can click here for a link to the directions.
This project is super easy. All you do is coat your candle with Mod Podge and then roll it in Epsom Salt. I put the Epsom Salt on a rimmed cookie sheet when I rolled my candles. They dried very quickly and were oh so sparkly.
I made a quick centerpiece for Christmas Eve dinner with my candles.
I used four tall pillar candles and three smaller ones because that’s what I had on hand. I’m going to stop by Big Lots for more candles because I’ve burned these every night since Christmas Eve and they are now “used up.”
I added faux berries for color.
I set my table with Lenox Holiday dishes and my Christmas Eve table was ready to go.
I’m linking this to Kimba’s DIY Day, Susan’s Tablescape Thursday, Donna’s Saturday Night Special, and Transformation Thursday at The Shabby Chic Cottage.
I love this! I'm going to bookmark it for a future project!

This is fabulous. The holidays are over, but it does look very wintry! I will have to try it.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. I'm going to try it. Thanks for the idea. See this is what's so great about following blogs of creative people. You get all kinds of ideas. Heaven knows I'm not going to come up with ideas on my own. Speaking of candles....I got up this morning and thought to myself, "gosh it smells nice in the house". Then I recognized the smell, it was from my kitchen candle that I accidentally left burning all night long.
ReplyDeleteThey are lovely, Paula!!! :) My MIL gifted me with a subscription to Martha Stewart Living for Christmas and I was so excited. :) Sounds like she has some great ideas in there. Yours turned out wonderfully!
