Before:
The artist, now deceased, is local and the frame handmade walnut.
I first tried painting the blue mat gold because I had some gold paint on hand and I thought it might work. Wrong! It was so bad that I didn’t take a picture of it. I then took a print that I wanted to hang in a grouping along with this one to Home Depot and had a paint sample mixed in a coordinating green. Bingo! For less than $4.00, I now had a mat that coordinated with my grouping plan.
I like this print so much better with the green mat. I found the print to the left of it at a local antique store and the other bird print was my grandmother’s. This grouping fills what was a blank wall quite nicely.
Now why didn’t I do this sooner?
I'm sharing with Amanda's Weekend Bloggy Reading Party.

ReplyDeleteThat looks great! Love the changed mat, and yes, it seems so simple...but we don't always do the simple things first, right?
