I’m joining Joan at Anything Goes Here again this week for Vintage Christmas Monday. If you missed my post last week, you can see it here. Be sure to visit Joan’s blog to see all of this week’s vintage Christmas treasures.
One of my favorite Christmas decorations to use in my kitchen is this vintage punch set. It’s missing a cup, but I don’t care, I’m not using it, just admiring it!
This plaid sewing kit belonged to my great aunt. Some of her supplies are still inside. The glass bowl belonged to my grandmother and was given to her by an elderly gentleman who lived in Vinton, VA. The red balls are old, probably more like70’s old, if that’s old in your book. The rest of the balls are new.
None of the balls in this picture are old. The compote was my grandmother’s and probably was passed to her by the aunt that raised her. (The owner of the plaid sewing kit!) The glass ball lights up and also was my grandmother’s. I doubt if it is very old.
My grandmother knitted this stocking for me in 1969. I’m 40 so I guess that it is old enough to be called vintage!
Thanks to Joan for hosting this fun party. It’s fun to visit blogs who also love to decorate with vintage items.
You are so good at keeping up with stuff and decorating with them Paula. I wish I were that good. It's all beautiful. But I really love the punch bowl. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas.
ReplyDeleteYou have the BEST vintage stuff, Paula! :) The plaid sewing kit is too cute, but your punch bowl and cups are my favorite!! I'd love to have something like that. Guess I need to start scouring Good Will and SA! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visits this weekend. :)
Thanks for sharing your treasures... my favorite is your punchbowl set.... I would use it for something special to drink at Christmas time! Bisous... Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteHi Paula!

I love the vintage punch set. SOOOO cute!
ReplyDeleteAnd, nothing is more precious than a handknit stocking. I have both the one that my grandmother made me as well as the matching set that my sister knit for us when our daughter was born. All precious heirlooms.
it's all beautiful but the stocking is my favorite. My mother in law cross stitched all my kids one. Actally that might be my next post!
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful vintage decorations you have, Paula! I especially like your vintage punch bowl. I had a milk glass mug like that when I was little...but mine had a cowboy on it! The stocking is so special! And at 40 I don't think you are vintage! lol However, when I am hitting the antique mall and I recognize half of the stuff...I am thinking I must qualify! Happy week!...Debbie
ReplyDeleteI love the graphics on the punch bowl and cups. Those old graphics look so fresh again! Cute VINTAGE sock. I am not only vintage, I'm now an antique. xo Joan, your hostess.
ReplyDeleteYou have some great things. The punch bowl is wonderful. How fun...julie
ReplyDeleteThat punch set is so festive, and so is that sewing kit. I love plaid anything! But I am most intrigued by that glass ball that lights up! I've never seen anything like it, but I bet it gives off a nice glow. I love unusual things like that!
ReplyDeleteHappy VCM!
Carol
That's a wonderful punch bowl set, and I love anything crystal. The plaid sewing kit is so unique, and what a great item for Christmas decorating too. It all looks great.
