Forgotten Projects

Do you ever make somthing and then forget all about it?  In the summer of 2007, I purchased Amy Butler's In Stiches book and made several projects.

This is a great book if you like to sew.  Amy's directions are easy to follow and her projects are super cute.

I made this purse, carried it a few times, and then stuffed it into a closet.  I wish that I'd used Amy Butler fabric to make it but in 2007 none was available in my area.  Amy's directions make this purse as a clutch, but I added handles.

My 1950's house has very small closets forcing me to keep my clothes in every available closet except for the one that Mr. SP uses.  This purse was hiding in an upstairs closet.  I had forgotten all about it!  I've been carrying it every since I found it and have received bunches of compliments.  One friend even wanted me to make one for her.

Have you ever been thrilled to find something that you've forgotten that you had?

I'm sharing this for Metamorphosis Monday at Susan's Between Naps on the Porch.

  1. I remember when you made that purse. So cute. And, yes, I love finding things I've forgotten about.

  2. That is the cutest purse, ever! I'm so glad you re-discovered it! (Do you think I'd find something super cute like that if I cleaned out my closet? Yeah, probably not..)

  5. I have enjoyed going through your blog to catch up on entries that I have missed in the past two weeks. Dear Son finally brought the computer back! Love the purse-very stylish! Had to laugh about your DVR. I watch the same programs. I can't wait to see the confrontation between trashy Danielle and Caroline! You would think schoolteachers would have enough drama in their everyday lives without having to resort to Bravo.

  6. Serious love for that purse. I can see why it might not be your everyday bag but it would so be my weekend date night go to purse. Darling.

  7. I find something every time I go to the basement. It amazes me that I have such an ability to forget stuff I spent so much energy acquiring. Just no idea what to do with shoes from the 70s.

Good news! We're staring a Friday Giveaway link-up party this Fri. 8/27 plus we are giving away custom backsplash! Please join us. Jane F.
