This urn most likely originally held funeral flowers.
The materials list for this project is short and sweet: urn, scrapbook paper, Mod Podge, and scissors.
Cut the scrapbook paper into small squares and apply to the vase using Mod Podge.
I made sure to smooth each paper down with my finger as I applied it to keep bubbles from forming under the paper. I started at the top and worked my way down, alternating paper colors to create a pleasing pattern. After drying overnight, my glammed up urn was ready for flowers.
I love the look of my new urn and plan to use it all fall for decorating.

cute! what a beautiful arrangement of flowers!
ReplyDeleteI really like what you did with the vase! Cute papers and I especially like the arrangement. Maybe you could do a flower arrangement post one day :)
ReplyDeleteOh Paula Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteNow how cute is that? Does it say Fall or what? Who would have thought you could take that plain old white plastic vase and turn it into something so Darn Stinkin Cute? I LOVE it.
Thank you so much for sharing the idea. I recently bought some Modge Podge that has glitter in it. It could make one really pretty for Christmas like this.
Again, thank you for sharing. It looks so beautiful with the flowers you selected and sitting in your living room. DDG.
Country hugs sweetie...Sherry

Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteYou are all about fall, arent't you? I am not quite on the ball yet, but I'll get there. :) I love this vase and I really love the possibilities that Modge Podge presents. We could create any look!
Hi found you from Serenity Now's blog roll and so glad I did. I've NEVER modpodged before. I know where have I been. I love the way this vase came out. I have a little birdhouse for my daughter's room. We've built it, we've spray painted it pink. But now I need to decorate it. I'm thinking a combo of hand painted elements and modpodge should so the trick...now if I just can get the courage to take the plunge:-) I guess we can always spray paint again as needed!
ReplyDeleteWonderful! I dont know if I would have patience to lay on each square...but it sure looks gorgeous. Good for you!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
Great idea, turned out beautiful!
ReplyDeleteawesome! this caught my eye at the Creative Chick Parade!
ReplyDeleteI love this! I was admiring it before you told how you made it!
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
