Luckily the flower show goes on and there’s quite a bit to enjoy at the end of May in my yard.
Verbena Bonariensis reseeds freely and is 100% deer proof. I let it grow pretty much where ever it comes up because I like its purple blooms.
Hot pink Lychnis is a site to see. This also reseeds easily and the deer don’t touch it.
This Hollyhock is a volunteer.
Hydrangeas are one of the stars of the yard show in late May. Mama bought this variety for me at Andre Viette’s nursery years ago.
A blue Hydrangea blooms in a different bed.
The planters hanging from my deck are starting to fill out and look pretty. I like the color combination that I used this year.
It's now June 1st and yellow blooming Yarrow has joined the show. May and June sure are pretty flower months!

ReplyDeleteYour blue and purple flowers are so pretty! I find myself gravitating to those colors, as well. And your white hydrangeas are gorgeous ... fine ladies of any garden party! Have you ever tried plumbago (plumbago auriculata)? It is deer resistant and has lovely, delicate blue or white flowers. Not sure the white is deer resistant - but I know the blue is. Leslie

ReplyDeleteYou've got some pretty blooms! Our hydrangeas are not nearly as advanced as yours. I'm glad I was able to back track and find your post on garlic. We are awaiting our first crop. We just didn't know what to look for as far as pulling it up, but now we do! We have 240 bulbs!

ReplyDeleteThis year I noticed that everyone in my neighborhood has Hollyhock. I had no idea what it was and asked my mom who called it St. Josephs Staff, only she said it in Spanish but for the life of me I can't remember how it's pronounced!
