What's on Your Wall Wednesday
For my 200th post, I'm participating in What's on Your Wall Wednesday, sponsored by Barb at Grits and Glamour. Check out her blog to see this week's list of participants.
I'd like to share my framed sheet music for this week's "What's on Your Wall" post. My maternal grandmother had two cousins, Maggie and Creed, who lived together their entire lives. Maggie never married. My mother inherited a huge box of Maggie's sheet music. The graphics on the music were so neat that we both framed many of them to use in our homes. I'll have to share Mama's sheet music on another post.
This grouping features all ladies. I think that they are so romantic looking. These are in our formal living room (that's not so formal). The frames are cherry, handmade by a local man. The wood is also local. (Click on the pictures to enlarge them.)
This grouping is in our family room and is more masculine. I never get tired of looking at these! These frames are local walnut, made by the same man who framed the other set.
I would like to kindly thank my school system for operating on a two hour delay this morning which gave me time to compose this post. I can hear little ice pellets hitting the window as I type. The temperature is already at 38 degrees, so driving to work with the delay should be no problem.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my sheet music.
Oh I loved seeing these. Thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVED the framed sheet music. I agree about the pics of that old music being so special. A great way to have a tribute to special people in your life too. Great idea! Thanks for dropping by my blog too. PAM

ReplyDeleteBe careful today. We just have rain and wind.
Oh yes, I loved seeing your sheet music collection. Wow, this is another thing I could get in to. You have so many and they are displayed perfectly.

ReplyDelete~Beautiful artwork! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a fabulous collection and what a fantastic way to display it (of course my DH is a picture framer, so I would say that lol) You have some really unique pieces here, but I think my favorite has to be "my wife has gone to the country, hurrah" - that's hysterical! Kathy
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing. I particularly liked seeing "K-K-K-Katy." My aunt used to sing that to me when I was a little girl.
ReplyDeletePaula,
ReplyDeleteThe sheet music pictures are very cool! They are so Victorian looking! You & your mother must love that you have preserved a little bit of family history.
Thanks for sharing! :-)

LOVE the old sheet music. Wow, such simple things were so much lovelier and more creative back then. No one will be framing the sheet music of today!

What a treasure you have! The framed groupings are very appealing.
ReplyDeleteYou and Cami think alike! I love the grouping. Love how soft the women are and the funny reactions of the men! (she's gone to the country!)
